Kansas City Royals - New Forms of Interaction
Overview
Now that in-stadium entertainment is a big part of nearly every sporting event, the Kansas City Royals sought a way to create an original and engaging way for fans to interact with their franchise.
Challenge
Apart from challenging Vibes to push the envelope of in-stadium entertainment, the Royals also wanted to reward fans by offering them a chance to upgrade their seating to the VIP level during the game.
Solution
In addition to establishing a campaign that allowed fans to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to upgrade their tickets, Vibes created an original in-stadium Speed Text program. Though Vibes had run Speed Text programs previously, those were relegated to one-on-one competitions with test phones provided to contestants. For the Royals Vibes executed a stadium wide Speed Text program, allowing fans to use their own phones and compete against thousands of people at once.
