Texas Instruments - Mobile Coupon Redemption

Overview

Texas Instruments came to Vibes looking for a way to augment their on-going sponsorship of the Dallas Cowboys, Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns for the 2007 NFL season.

Challenge

In addition to creating a program that generated buzz and increased brand recognition, Texas Instruments tasked Vibes with the specific objective of driving sales of DLP televisions at select Circuit City locations.

Solutions

At all of the team’s regular season home games, fans were shown a Texas Instruments sponsored highlight reel of plays from the previous game on the stadium’s jumbotron. After viewing the reel, fans were prompted to vote for their favorite play via text message. Fans that voted received a bounce back message on their phone asking if they’d like to receive a mobile coupon for a Texas Instruments DLP. Fans that responded “yes” received another text message containing a unique code that could be brought into participating Circuit City’s and used for toward the purchase of a new DLP television.
